Itinerary: Mykonos

Day 1 - September 30

Arrive from Athens. Upon checking in to the Myconian Avaton Resort, you will enjoy welcome refreshments and be provided with a welcome packet including a map of the island. Spend the afternoon resting, exploring, or enjoying the beautiful beach and resort facilities.

Welcome Dinner at Uno Con Carne. After a short introductory walking tour of Mykonos Town, we'll arrive at Uno Con Carne. This fabulous courtyard restaurant is a hot new player on the cosmopolitan Mykonos dining scene. It was built in a refurbished open-air movie theatre and has a grand ambiance.

Day 2 - October 1

After a leisurely buffet breakfast at the hotel, we'll board the Phoebus for a private charter cruise along the Mykonos Coast to Delos Island. Carpenter guests will have the opportunity to relax, sunbathe, and party onboard this deluxe vessel as we sail along the coast to Delos.

Delos. This tiny uninhabited island is one of the most important archaeological sites in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. It is the legendary birthplace of the twin gods Apollo and Artemis. Remains of Temples and residences dating back from the Neolithic to the Roman periods are to be found here. Upon arrival, we'll take a guided tour of this sacred Island and visit the Sanctuary of Apollo with its three temples dating from the 6th and 5th centuries BC. We'll see the Sacred Lake where Apollo was born and the nine replicas of the famous marble lions which stood guard. Five of the original lions can be seen in the island's archaeological museum which houses a fascinating collection of exhibits including 7th century BC statues, reliefs, masks and ancient jewelry. We’ll see the amphitheatre, built in 300 BC to accommodate 5,500 spectators, and the nearby theatre quarter where the island's wealthiest inhabitants built opulent houses with grand, colonnaded courtyards. Many of the ruined buildings scattered throughout the island contain elaborate, well–preserved mosaics, painstakingly uncovered by the French Archaeology School, which continues work on Delos having started excavations in 1873.

Lunch at Hippie Fish Restaurant. This is an upscale restaurant located on the beach of Agios Ioannis, one of the finest beaches on Mykonos with spectacular views of Delos. The unique blend of Cycladic architecture and modern decoration creates a classic atmosphere for a superior dining experience. It offers a diverse menu of authentic Mediterranean and Greek cuisines.

Ano Mera. After lunch we'll take a short tour of Ano Mera, located about 5 miles from Mykonos town. It’s the second largest village after Mykonos Town and one of the oldest on the island. Here locals continue their daily routines uninterrupted by crowds of tourists. It boasts a charming square with a monastery and tavernas, surrounded by traditional Cycladic houses.

Dinner at Sea Satin. Sea Satin enjoys a remarkable location and is well-regarded as one of the most charming restaurants in Mykonos. Literally sitting on the ocean, this restaurant guarantees to impress and please, both in cuisine and ambience. It's open air dining at its most romantic ... starlight combining with flickering coastal lights and candlelights.

Day 3 - October 2

Enjoy a day of leisure spending time at the resort's facilities or opt for an optional tour. Suggestions: an Optional Off Road Jeep Safari, a self-drive tour exploring the less seen places on the island and finding beautiful beaches; or, Optional Beach Hopping aboard a traditional wooden caique boat.

Our farewell evening begins with a cocktail reception and musical entertainment on the lovely Sunset Terrace. This will be followed by a gala dinner at Horizons, also with live music.

Day 4 - October 3

After your buffet breakfast at the hotel, it's time to say goodbye to Greece. We promise you'll pack beautiful memories for your return trip.
