Introduction

We’re off to the Swiss Alps with its snow-capped peaks, steep valleys are clothed in pines, and waterfalls cutting through dramatic gorges; everywhere the sound of cowbells. Carpenter invites you to join us in this picture-perfect magical land. Home base is lovely Lucerne, bordered by mountains and situated on the beautiful lake of the same name. Daily excursions take us through breathtaking scenery. We’ll visit quaint villages where craftsmen produce the products for which the region is famous, and timeless cities show off their distinctive flower-clad buildings.

Our extension to Northern Italy is equally enticing. We'll stay in the legendary resort of the Italian Alps—Lake Como—a jewel-like oasis of tranquility—where Mediterranean foliage meets snowy Alpine peaks. From here we have easy access to the historic and bustling centers of Northern Italy.

Our hotels are havens of comfort and excellent service, and each day we will have many opportunities to take in the richness of local culture and history, and the overwhelming magnificence of nature that surrounds us on every side.
